Pre Fall 12 | Gucci
Gucci Pre Fall 12
Pansy fever has hit the runways and Gucci brings this happy faced floral center stage. We also like the animal print update with zebra stripes morphing into chevron and other non-traditional forms.

Amarinalevin Handknits
These children's sweaters were knitted by a very special woman who started making sweaters when her children were very small, the imagery inspired by their favorite books and characters. Though her kids are grown now, she continues to create these one of a kind treasures on etsy to us lucky consumers.

Pattern Play Design Contest
The appeal of Marcel Wanders is far reaching. His use of pattern in unexpected application has earned him a well honored place among all types of designers and fans.
from Coolhunting.com:
"To promote the launch of Wanders' latest design, the Can Can pattern, YLighting has placed an open call for creative designers, challenging them to find interesting applications of the motif. In response, an impassioned flood of people from around the world have submitted their original takes on the appropriated design. Among the current selection of entries, a few of the standouts include Can Can patterned contact lenses, a parasol, a cocktail strainer and a set of dumbbells.
Submissions will be accepted until 15 January 2012. Prizes for the contest are $2,500, $1,000 and $500 for the top three, and the top eight receive a FLOS Can Can Light. Head over to the contest page to download the pattern and enter your own creation. "

Artists Statement:
Surfaces collide and reflect in the newest work from print studio, Pattern People. Inspired by parquetry, natural textures and fibers are inlaid within geometric compositions creating intricate, layered imagery. Opposites attract as soft knits gain structure, while marble and wood take on a quilt-like effect.
