Preppy has been a trend for some time now, and at the pre-fall and men's-wear shows, we see some blue-blood tartans entering the picture in a sumptuous way at Christian Dior. At Kenzo, we can reminisce about our old days at prep-school in London, and then get a swift kick of early punk from Victor & Rolf.

AW11 Mens | Bold Stripes

Similar to the womenswear pre-fall shows, large, bold stripes are also making an impact on the runway for menswear. The soft, faded boundaries between stripes as seen at Walter Van Beirendonck and Dries Van Noten are a nice update.

Textures are always a classic print, and are hugely popular both on runway and in retail right now. At Printsource last week, apparel designers were clamoring for textures, soft painterly geometrics, and textury animal prints.
