Now that the dust has settled from ICFF, we've had a chance to review a few of our favorite designers. At the top of the list is Meg Callahan who creates digitally printed quilts. This subversive technique brings a modern edge to the craft of quilting and produces bold, graphic panels of eye-catching art. It's perfect for the wall or the bed.

New Label: Nakedheel

Nakedheel is a fashion/eco label recently started by Katrin Wiens, formerly of the seminal New York collection, Pepper + Pistol. The first collection, People for the Pelicans  features "limited-edition of silk scarves and bags to benefit the birds, the bold and the beautiful, released to commemorate the Deepwater Horizon Disaster in the Gulf of Mexico - and to help its struggling water birds. 5% of the People for Pelicans profit will benefit International Bird Rescue, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to saving the Gulf's oiled pelicans and other aquatic birds in emergency situations"

Chanel x 80s Florals

Floaty dresses and airy prints were just some of the features appearing in the resort collection from Chanel. Lagerfeld incorporated many 80s references from checkerboard to large pastel floral prints like the one above. Get out your vintage bedding for more inspiration.

The Omega Workshop

The Omega Workshop, an early turn of the century British artist collective, was composed primarily of Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell (sister of Virginia Woolf). Spending much of their time at Charleston, a bohemian farmhouse in Sussex, Grant and Bell played host to the Bloomsbury artists, writers and other intellectuals of the time. Their whimsical style and casual brushstrokes were applied to every surface appearing on folding screens, wallpaper, fabrics and ceramics. In collaboration with the Cortauld Institute, Christopher Farr has translated some of the Omega Workshop's artwork into rugs. If you're in London, you can view the collection through June 24th here.

Spring flowers are a huge inspiration right now, and above are used to gorgeous effect in a variety of styles: graphic, photographic, painterly, and line-based. Time to get girly and colorful!

Artists' Textiles

The new book titled, Artists' Textiles 1940 - 1976, highlights the work of these major players, along with many other 20th Century greats, on cotton instead of canvas. Get out your paintbrush and get inspired!

Sydney Fashion Week | Jenny Kee

An Aussie legend from the 70's comes roaring back to show her first collection since 1981.   According to wikipedia, "In 1965 Jenny Kee moved to London and became involved in the Swinging London and undergound scene, where she sold ethnic and retro clothes, cast-off Dior clothes, and Indian embroideries to a hippy clientele. While being interviewed for TV series Talking Heads, she claims that during her time in London, she had a brief sexual encounter with John Lennon...In 2006, she published her autobiography and account of her life in swinging London, A Big Life." Since then, she's collaborated with Linda Jackson to create a line of sweaters with emblems one of which was owned by Lady Di, she's been painting big red beautiful flowers, and created a line of gorgeous colorful print scarves. 

This new collection is a fun cacophonous reflection of her career, with lots of bright ethnic prints, colors and print mixing.

Art | Dave White at the Hospital Club, London

London artist Dave White has been making a splash in the art world with his expressive brushstroke techniques and bold subject matter. His newest work, dealing with endangered species, will be revealed at the Hospital Club in London in June.
