Art: Paul Jenkins
Paul Jenkins was an artist originally associated with abstract expressionism and his work looks more relevant and inspiring today than any other ab-ex paintings.
In surface design, painterly treatments are making a big comeback, what with Christopher Kane's new men's collection, and lots of other new looks featuring this romantic trend.

Art | Lady Aiko Bowery Mural
Japanese artist Lady Aiko has finished her mural at the famous Bowery and Hudson location in New York. She is the first female to have a mural at this spot, and we just love her style. Soft yet tough, and with very interesting pattern and line work.

Magic Mountains
Somehow the artist, Marco Reichert, has managed to capture the fluidity of liquid or fabric in his newest collection of paintings titled, Magic Mountain. Although abstract in nature, it's easy to interpret these as surreal landscapes of a futuristic world.

Art | Andy Gilmore
We love Andy Gilmore's digital work--so intricate and such rich colors. The above picture in the middle was made into a fold-out poster for wallpaper magazine. It is a collection of colors used on the Spring/Summer 11 runways, and the poster has been on our wall for months. Now we know all the other gorgeous work from this artist!

Little-known fabric works of the late Louise Bourgeois are currently on display in London at Hauser & Wirth Gallery through December 18th. According to the gallery's press release, "Fabric played an important role in Bourgeois’s life. She grew up surrounded by the textiles of her parents’ tapestry restoration workshop, and from the age of twelve helped the business by drawing in the sections of the missing parts that were to be repaired. A life-long hoarder of clothes and household items such as tablecloths, napkins and bed linen, from the mid-nineties Bourgeois cut up and re-stitched these, transforming her lived materials into art. Through sewing she attempted to effect psychological repair: ‘I always had the fear of being separated and abandoned. The sewing is my attempt to keep things together and make things whole."

Art: Guerra de la Paz

Miami artists Alain Guerra and Neraldo de la Paz create sculptures out of their own discarded clothes and thrift store finds. The resulting bodies, nests and colorful piles allude to the people that previously wore the clothing, and to the collective mound of discarded clothing that continues to build up mass in the world.
