The Omega Workshop, an early turn of the century British artist collective, was composed primarily of Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell (sister of Virginia Woolf). Spending much of their time at
Charleston, a bohemian farmhouse in Sussex, Grant and Bell played host to the Bloomsbury artists, writers and other intellectuals of the time. Their whimsical style and casual brushstrokes were applied to every surface appearing on folding screens, wallpaper, fabrics and ceramics. In collaboration with the Cortauld Institute,
Christopher Farr has translated some of the Omega Workshop's artwork into rugs. If you're in London, you can view the collection through June 24th
here.
